We love celebrities, VIPs, MVPs and the easily recognized greats among us, but often it is the army of faceless and nameless people who are truly heroic because they are the fuel for propelling a movement forward. They are the ones who set the table for celebrities, VIPs and MVPs to do what they do. Even though they may live in obscurity, it is often the unsung heroes who are truly great. And the kingdom of God is no different. The kingdom of God has been advanced by unsung heroes. For every Peter, Paul, Mother Theresa or Martin Luther King Jr. theres been a million unsung heroes who labored in obscurity to advance the kingdom and make possible what they accomplished. So on June 28th, we'll begin our summer message series, Unsung Heroes, where we will learn from the obscure and lesser-known heroes in the Bible who did great things to advance Gods kingdom and made possible what the more well-known accomplished. |

There are some people who seem to be larger than life and too good to be true. But every once in a while there is one who truly lives larger than life and becomes legendary. Joseph, the son of Jacob, (aka Joe Jacobson) is just such a figure. He wrestled with a God who gave big dreams, only to be dragged through the mud. But in so doing, he points us to living a larger than life existence for God that embraces the zigzag journey that often defines a life with God. So join us in discovering a larger than life existence as we uncover the Legend of Joe Jacobson in Genesis 37-50. |

What do you think you might learn about someone if you lived in their shadow? Imagine it: you saw what they did, you heard what they spoke, you asked questions of them behind the scenes, you saw them at their best and worst, and you basically had a front row seat to their life. You'd know them in ways and dimensions that not many would know them. That is just Peter's experience with Jesus. For the better part of three years, he spent day and night with Jesus walking in his shadow, even underneath the shadow of the cross and the shadows of an empty tomb. So we're tracing Peter's steps in Jesus' shadow and dropping in on specific moments so that we too can know Jesus in new ways and dimensions that we might not have thought of before as we lead up to Easter. So join us as we step with Peter in Jesus' shadow in this series called In His Shadow. |
