Worship

Worship is the reverent response to the truth of God.  As we come to understand His greatness, we are moved to express unbounded joy, adoration, mourning, fear and dedication.  It is the goal of the worship ministry at GracePoint to foster this understanding and lifestyle, giving those gathered varied opportunities to engage Him with their hearts and with their heads. Music, art, prayer, drama, readings of scripture, communion, video, teaching and offerings all play a part in worship on Sunday mornings. Ryan Phelps (Director of Worship Arts) and David Limina (Director of Music) head up this ministry with the help of dedicated and talented volunteers.

We currently need people for all areas of the worship ministry, including sound and video tech, music and drama. If you are interested in serving on this team, contact Ryan Phelps

Children & Family

SUNDAY MORNINGS
GracePoint offers Kidstown, a Sunday morning program for children Birth through 6h grade.  First time guests and long time “veterans” are welcomed together on Sunday mornings in Kidstown and led by experienced adult volunteers.  The children will learn and share together in age-specific small groups and worship in large groups.

TUESDAY FAMILY NIGHT
GracePoint also offers a mid-week Life Community gathering on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month where families gather together for dinner.  After sharing a meal together, parents remain to study, teens  meet with GracePoint youth leaders for their own program and the children go to another area where they engage in a companion series to the adult study entitled The Honor Club. They also worship together, play games, occasionally watch movies…and grow as a community.

During the 2007-2008 year, the adults will be studying a parenting class called, Say Goodbye to Whining, Complaining, and Bad Attitudes, in You and Your Kids from the National Center for Biblical Parenting.  The study will combine video, voluntary discussion and Q&A.

A detailed schedule and directions for 2007-2008 Tuesday Family Night can be found by clicking here.

ABOUT KIDSTOWN
A place where kids can make friends, learn from people who love them, get to know Jesus, and have fun.

Little kids learn that God made them and wants to be their forever friend.  Big kids learn to make wise choices, trust God no matter what, and treat others the way they want to be treated.  We meet kids just where they are, challenge volunteers to give their best, and equip parents to make faith real in their homes.

SERVING OUR CHILDREN & FAMILIES

We believe that our purpose is to partner with families to share Jesus with children; engaging them so they will know him personally, grow in their faith in him, share their faith with others, and serve their community.

Youth & Family

SUNDAY MORNINGS
After worship services on Sunday mornings, GracePoint offers a Teen Cafe for middle and high school students to gather together, talk about their week, and prepare for worship.  Many of our youth serve on Sundays in areas such as: children’s ministry, greetings, set-up, ushering, or technology support or join with adults in worship.

MIDWEEK
GracePoint also offers a fun mid-week youth program on Tuesdays that includes teaching, sharing, and worship.  An important focus of our youth group is to help build community where our youth can share together, grow together, and learn from experienced adults in a fun and safe environment.  We meet on Tuesday nights at 7 pm.  On the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays, we first join with our families at 6 pm for dinner.  On all other Tuesdays, we meet at a GracePoint Family's house at 7 pm.

Outreach

FACE OF A CHILD

This fall, GracePoint participated in the "Face of a Child" project which brings the love of Jesus to thousands of orphans and needy children in Moldova.  We filled backpacks with school supplies, athletic shoes and everyday essentials. Our completed backpacks were gathered on September 16 and have been boxed up and are ready to ship to Moldova.  Each individual or family that filled a backpack received a photo of the child and will be praying for that child this year.  The picture to the left shows some of our GracePoint family with the completed backpacks.

MOLDOVA ORPHANAGE BATHROOMS

After being involved in the Face of a Child project, GracePoint inquired whether there was anything more we could do to help meet the needs of the orphans in Moldova. We were told of an orphanage in Drokia that had severe plumbing problems, including a lack of hot water. The boys and girls had to take turns using one of the six bathrooms. GracePoint decided to donate enough money to fix the plumbing including providing hot water.  The donation will cover fixing three bathroom units, each separated into a boys side and a girls side. We are pleased to report that this project will begin early next year under the direction of the Little Samaritan Mission.

Moldova is a former Soviet bloc country and is located in a landlocked position between Romania and Ukraine.  The map to the left shows its location.

ANGEL TREE MINISTRIES

GracePoint partnered with Angel Tree Ministries this Christmas to sponsor an Angel Christmas Tree.  On our tree were the names of local children who have a parent in prison.  GracePoint members selected one or more children and shopped for the items that they had requested for Christmas.  We wrapped the presents and attached a gift tag from their parent.  The presents were then presented to the children at a special Angel Tree Christmas party.
