Worship

|
Worship is the reverent response to the truth of God. As we come to understand His greatness, we are moved to express unbounded joy, adoration, mourning, fear and dedication. It is the goal of the worship ministry at GracePoint to foster this understanding and lifestyle, giving those gathered varied opportunities to engage Him with their hearts and with their heads. Music, art, prayer, drama, readings of scripture, communion, video, teaching and offerings all play a part in worship on Sunday mornings. Ryan Phelps (Director of Worship Arts) and David Limina (Director of Music) head up this ministry with the help of dedicated and talented volunteers.
We currently need people for all areas of the worship ministry, including sound and video tech, music and drama. If you are interested in serving on this team, contact Ryan Phelps. |

SUNDAY MORNINGS
GracePoint offers Kidstown, a Sunday morning program for children Birth through 5th grade. First time guests and long time “veterans” are welcomed together on Sunday mornings in Kidstown and led by experienced adult volunteers. The children will learn and share together in age-specific small groups and worship in large groups.
ABOUT KIDSTOWN
A place where kids can make friends, learn from people who love them, get to know Jesus, and have fun.
Little kids learn that God made them and wants to be their forever friend. Big kids learn to make wise choices, trust God no matter what, and treat others the way they want to be treated. We meet kids just where they are, challenge volunteers to give their best, and equip parents to make faith real in their homes.
Pre K through 2nd Grade
Kids gather in small group rooms to "Plug in" for the morning's program. They meet up with friends, share, and prepare for the teaching. They then move to "Large Group" where they have a time of worship and a Bible story. Each month the children are taught a different virtue, supported by Bible stories. They then reconnect with their small group to discuss the lesson and how to apply the virtue to their lives.
Club 345: Grapple (Grades 3-5)
Children in this age group are preparing for their teen-age years; growing, exploring and seeking deeper answers to their questions. Club 345 and our “Grapple” program provides kids with a deeper Bible study in a small group setting and allows them to help with worship for the younger age groups. The program makes use of multi-media tools to bring the Bible alive and generate study, questions, and sharing with peers and their adult leaders.

GRACEPOINT MOM'S GROUP
At Mom to Mom, our Mission is to educate, encourage and equip women for the most important job in all the world -- parenting! Through practical, Biblically based teaching on parenting and through supportive interaction in small groups led by other mothers, we wish to foster growth not only in our parenting skills but in our wholeness as women - intellectually, relationally, and spiritually.
Mom to Mom Ministry is designed around the Titus 2:4 concept of older women teaching and encouraging younger women in their relationship with their husbands and children.
This year we are using the Mom to Mom curriculum "Growing Together: Growing a Child = Growing a Mom." The curriculum challenges moms at all ages and stages to grow deeper, even as they help their children grow. Growing Together addresses parenting and family issues while helping women stay connected to the ultimate Power Source.
Weekly topics this year include "When You're Running on Empty," "Three Gifts I'd Like to Give Every Mom," "Taming the Top 10 Marriage Monsters," "Who's the Parent Here?" and "Everyday Crossroads: Choices and Consequences for Parents and Children".
Mom to Mom meets every other Thursday morning from 9:30am to 11:30am (taking breaks for school vacations and holidays).
We meet at Veasey Memorial Park at 201 Washington Street, Groveland, MA 01823. For directions: http://www.veaseypark.org.
The one-year cost for Mom to Mom is $110. This includes all materials and childcare. Scholarships are available.
Childcare is provided. Mom to Mom includes infant/toddler care through age 2 and a Bible-based preschool program for children ages 2 through 5.

FACE OF A CHILD
Each Fall, GracePoint participates in the "Face of a Child" project which brings the love of Jesus to thousands of orphans and needy children in Moldova. We fill backpacks with school supplies, athletic shoes and everyday essentials. Our completed backpacks are gathered and sent to Moldova
and distributed there by a team of people from our church
. Each individual or family that fills a backpack receives a photo of the child and will be praying for that child during the year. The picture to the left shows some of our GracePoint family with the completed backpacks.

UGANDA PARTNERSHIP WITH WORLD VISION
In 2008 GracePoint began working with World Vision in the African country of Uganda. In addition to the problem of hunger, AIDS and poverty, over 30,000 children of Northern Uganda have been kidnapped by a rebel Army group and forced into slavery and cruel acts of violence.
For the past three years our church has provided $25,000 a year to programs run by World Vision in Northern Uganda which bring material and emotional support to these children and families. We also support the work of World Vision in an area of Northern Uganda called Aber, which is made up of hundreds of small villages. Individuals in our church provide monthly support for over 25 children who live in Aber. We have sent someone from our church to visit Aber each of the past two years to be able to reach out to them with the love of Jesus. If you are interested in sponsoring a child in Aber or in going on a missions trip, please contact Bob Givens.

ANGEL TREE MINISTRIES
GracePoint partners with Angel Tree Ministries each Christmas to sponsor children whose parents are incarcerated. Church members purchase two gifts for each child. One gift is clothing and the other is a toy or game. These gifts are given to the children in the name of their parent who is in prison. The parent actually writes a note to their child which is included on the gift. The church then has a Christmas celebration party with all the children and their local parent/caregiver with food and games and the telling of the Christmas story. This past year 80 children participated.
